In a design class, we were tasked with designing the layout of a chapter. We were given the chapter text as a text document. After reading the chapter, we each individually decided on the design elements, from headers to font size to page size.
The dimensions are 34 by 46 picas, which is about 5 2/3 by 7 2/3 inches. This chapter is an excerpt from the book Folktales from India. This book, by A.K. Ramanujan, is a collection of stories from India. This story, The Kite’s Daughter, comes from state in northeastern India called Assamese.
