This was the final project for a student-taught class. The class was focused on Avatar: The Last Airbender and the Legend of Korra. The final was to create any project relating to Avatar and it’s world.
I focused on the cabbage merchant in Avatar (His son shows up briefly in Legend of Korra as well). I always laughed every time he’d pop up throughout the series. He shows up in moments where his cabbage cart gets destroyed. After each time, he then yells “My cabbages!”
Who all destroys his cabbages?
- The worst offenders are the Avatar (Aang) and his gang. The cabbage man does not look to kindly on the Avatar, and I do not blame him. His perception of the Avatar gang is explored in the episode The Ember Island Players where they attend a play in the fire nation about themselves, a play which was informed based on the word of a weirdly knowledgeable cabbage merchant.
- Animals, rogue or controlled by regulators in various nations.
- Fate seems to really hate his cabbages as well.
